A Piece a Day – Tension Set Ring – Nov 2
In this one day workshop, students will learn how to make this stunning Tension Set Ring. It’s definitely easier than it looks, so caters to those that have never picked up a hammer, and yet teaches those of us with hours of bench time something new.
During the class, students will learn how to create tension in their metal to hold a round or oval faceted stone of there choice. No torches or soldering needed! The end results are beautiful and easy to repeat. Students will get a choice of using a rectangle, half round or triangle wire for there rings and a faceted round or oval stone. (If you prefer, we will also have a selection of natural gemstones available at an extra charge) You will also be taught how to create a high polished finish on their rings or leave them with a soft satin finish. Both eye-catching and elegant. With all these options everyone leaves with a ring they love and wanting to come back for more.
With small class sizes, you will have the opportunity for in-depth lessons and one-on-one assistance.
All of the materials and equipment are provided for this class and no experience is necessary. Please wear close-toed shoes, comfortable clothes, your hair tied back, and no scarves or loose clothing (such as long open sleeves that could pose a safety hazard).
Workshops will not run until sufficient enrollment has been met. We recommend students register at least 10 days before class start dates to avoid disappointment.
The more the merrier! Feel free to spread the word to friends and family as this helps ensure classes will fill to capacity.
