Foldforming Technique Level 2 –
***New Dates to be Announced Soon
Foldforming is not really a new technique used in jewellery fabrication but it was re-introduced in a more modern context by Charles Lewton-Brain in the mid 80ies.
Foldforming focuses on using the inherent characteristics of copper and elastic malleability to quickly transform a flat metal sheet into a stunning 3D bracelet object to wear. Copper itself has also healing properties said to benefit joint stiffness and pain related to arthritis.
You will learn how to connect different layers of metal using basic fold forming techniques without soldering. Rivets (cold connections) are a great option to enhance the dimensional look of your projects as an additional design choice. This Level 2 Advanced Foldforming will build upon your basic fold forming portfolio. Combine alloys such as copper and brass to create a true one-of-a-kind and unique piece of jewellery to wear.
All of the materials and equipment are provided for this class and Level 1 Fold Forming is a prerequisite. Please wear close-toed shoes, comfortable clothes, your hair tied back and no scarves or loose clothing (such as long open sleeves that could propose a safety hazard)
This class is smaller than usual. Max 5 people!
