MaxWax – Lost Wax Jewellery Making Class- April 18 and 25

$425

Carve your ideas in wax. Cast them in silver.

In this two-day jewellery workshop, you’ll learn the fascinating lost wax casting process while creating a custom sterling silver ring entirely of your own design. From shaping wax to finishing silver, this hands-on class introduces one of the most versatile techniques used in jewellery making.

Day 1: Wax Carving & Design

We begin with jeweller’s carving wax, where you’ll learn how to shape, cut, and sculpt your own ring design. Your instructor will guide you through the tools and techniques used to manipulate wax—from refining proportions to adding texture and detail.

You’ll also learn the theory behind the lost wax casting process, understanding how your wax model will ultimately be transformed into solid silver.

At the end of the first session, your wax ring will be prepared for casting.

Day 2: Casting Demonstration & Finishing

During the second class, students will witness the casting process in the studio, seeing firsthand how wax designs are transformed into sterling silver.

Once the rings are cast, you’ll move on to finishing techniques. You’ll learn how to file, sand, refine, and polish your ring, bringing your design to its final wearable form.

By the end of the workshop, you’ll leave with a finished hand-carved sterling silver ring and a deeper understanding of the lost wax casting method used in professional jewellery production.

Class Size & Learning Environment

Classes are kept small to allow for in-depth instruction and individual guidance. Spreading the workshop over two sessions allows students to fully understand both the design and casting stages of the process.

Safety & Studio Guidelines

Please wear closed-toed shoes, comfortable clothing, and tie back long hair. Avoid scarves or loose sleeves that could present a safety risk in the workshop.

Please Note

Workshops run once the minimum enrollment has been met. To avoid disappointment, we recommend registering at least 10 days before the class start date.

Feel free to invite friends or family—the more the merrier, and it helps ensure the class fills.
